Wheat Self-Sufficiency in Turkey: Production and Climate Change in Focus

Abstract: Due to the fact that they can be preserved for extended periods of time and are utilized in virtually all cuisines, wheat products most popular grains grow produce. Beyond current climate change impacts, closed national borders growing limits import-export throughout pandemic phase have caused governments question their ability produce enough food meet own needs short term. One objectives this research is determine what variables affect self-sufficiency Türkiye, which one world's major suppliers, develop recommendations production areas face change's predicted impacts. With respect data from Turkish Statistical Institute (2000 2020) regional projections General Directorate Meteorology years 2050 2080 were used identify significant variables, as well relationship between those self-sufficiency. The findings indicate essential component achieving has a impact on productivity where grown. Following this, study concludes by detailing prospective regions great plain context projections, critical policies sustainable cultivation.
